Carrie Daniel is a Partner in the firm’s Commercial Law Practice Group, where she represents banks, financial institutions, and venture debt funds in venture lending transactions.
With more than 25 years of experience in commercial lending, Carrie brings deep expertise to advising lenders on the structuring, documentation, and negotiation of secured venture lending facilities. Her practice is focused on venture debt financings for early-stage and high-growth emerging technology and life science companies, including recurring revenue/asset-based revolving credit facilities, tranched term loans, and equipment financings. She also regularly advises on related matters such as intellectual property collateral, warrants, and intercreditor arrangements.
Before joining GCA Law Partners LLP, Carrie practiced at VLP Law Group LLP, Cooley LLP, and Freidman & Springwater LLP, where her work spanned commercial lending, acquisition financing, corporate bankruptcy, and debt restructuring.
Carrie earned her law degree from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, a master’s degree in organizational behavior from George Mason University, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a minor in biology, from University of Virginia. She has been actively involved in public education, where she served as an executive board member of the local education foundation and currently sits on the Advisory Council. She has also held several PTA officer roles, volunteered as a teacher’s classroom aide, and managed youth soccer, basketball, and volleyball teams. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and spending time with family and friends.
