Rob Andris is a career-long litigator and trial attorney as well as a registered Patent Attorney with the USPTO.  He joined GCA in 2018 after more than 30 years as a commercial and intellectual property litigator for two National law firms in the Bay Area.  Rob has first-chair experience in all aspects of the trial and litigation of patent, trade mark, trade dress, cybersquatting, copyright and unfair competition claims.  This experience includes handling cases in every federal courthouse in California, as well as in the district courts of Arizona, Colorado, Ohio, New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wyoming.  He holds the Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and was named a Northern California “Super Lawyer” in the area of Intellectual Property Litigation.

Mr. Andris has handled cases in a wide variety of industries, including laser particle detectors, computer chip manufacturing systems, blade servers, toy helicopters, electric servo motors, computer cooling systems, HVAC systems, concrete formulations, meat packaging, end mills, money clips, organic spices, cryogenic container marking systems, exercise and sporting equipment and building support systems.   He has also written and argued more than 70 state and federal appeals.  Mr. Andris has quoted on intellectual property matters by the Wall Street Journal, the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Jose Mercury and Internet News.  He has also authored articles for the National Law Journal, the Intellectual & Technology Law Journal, the San Francisco Daily Journal and Intellectual Property Today.

Mr. Andris received his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, with Distinction, from San Jose State University and his J.D. degree from Santa Clara University School of Law where he was a Comment’s Editor for the Computer and High Technology Law Journal.
