Doug Aikins joined GCA Law Partners LLP in December 1995 from Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich in Palo Alto, where he had been a partner since 1990. Mr. Aikins specializes in California land use law and its subspecialties of state and federal environmental regulations, wetlands, endangered species, redevelopment and local regulatory and zoning compliance. His clients include Silicon Valley corporate facility users, commercial, retail and hotel developers, residential developers, winery/vineyard developers, national retail chains, public agencies and environmental consulting firms. The first half of his 28-year career was spent with the City Attorneys' offices of Sunnyvale and Cupertino and as an associate with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison.  

Mr. Aikins is a frequent lecturer on land use matters, redevelopment law, and real estate development. He received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Oklahoma, and his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. He has been a member of the Legislation Committee of the Environmental Law Section of the State Bar of California.
