Valerie Wagner and E. David Marks were named to the Northern California list of Super Lawyers for 2016.

David Marks, a member of the Firm’s litigation and real estate groups, was approved on May 14, 2015  as a Northern California Mediator to be on the California Association of Real Estate Mediation Panel.  As a panel mediator for the C.A.R. Real Estate Mediation Center for Consumers, David will be available to serve as a mediator in a wide range of real estate disputes.

Benefits, Compensation and ERISA partner Ami Givon has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, in the Weekend Investor section several times. In the article “Tax Court Slaps Down IRAs Holding ‘Alternative Assets’” appearing on May 17, 2013, he is quoted extensively. In the February 2, 2013 edition, he is quoted in the article “Is that a Condo in your IRA?” In the March 2, 2012 edition, his comments are in the article “IRAs Get Sexier.”

In the Silicon Valley Business Journal Book of Lists 2013 ranking of law firms by number of full-time attorneys based in Silicon Valley, GCA ranks 35th.

GCA’s Employment Law Practice Group appears as number 8 among Employment Law firms in Silicon Valley, as ranked in the Silicon Valley Business Journal Book of Lists 2013.

Speaking Engagements

Bob Luckinbill spoke at “Athletes, Sports Law, and Policy: An Interdisciplinary Symposium” on May 6, 2017 at the Stanford Law School.  The Symposium was jointly presented by the Stanford Law & Policy Review, the Stanford Entertainment and Sports Law Association, and the Institute of Sports Law & Ethics of the University of the Pacific.  Bob spoke on the panel concerning “Changing Sex/Gender Roles and Sport.”

Litigation partner E. David Marks regularly presents seminars to professionals in the real estate industry. In May 2013 he is speaking on “Insurance Coverage and Contracts” to the Western Construction Consultants Association (“WestCon”) meeting in Berkeley, CA. In February 2013 he presented seminars entitled “Disclosures, Advertisements and Other Pitfalls in Sales Transactions” and “Issues with New Construction” to residential real estate agents in local Coldwell Banker offices.

Barbara Tanzillo has made several training presentations to clients on Sexual Harassment, in compliance with California’s now mandated interactive training and education for supervisory employees regarding sexual harassment (CA Government Code section 12950.1).

Community Activities

Corporate partner Clifford S. Robbins was recently appointed to a second term as a Commissioner on the City of San Mateo Park and Recreation Commission. He also is an elected member of the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee where he serves on the executive board.
